Massachusetts-built. Community-focused. Compliance-driven.
Our Story
Baystate Shredding Co. was founded with a single conviction: that secure document destruction should be straightforward, honest, and accessible to every business and household in the Commonwealth, not just large corporations with dedicated compliance teams.
We saw too many small law offices, family medical practices, and local accounting firms relying on underpowered desktop shredders and cross-fingers approaches to compliance. One audit, one data breach, one disgruntled employee going through a recycling bin, and years of client trust could evaporate overnight.
So we built a different kind of shredding company. One that shows up on time, prices fairly, documents everything, and leaves every client with genuine peace of mind, not just a receipt.
Every process we follow, every piece of equipment we operate, is designed around one priority: your information never falls into the wrong hands.
Our prices are posted. Our processes are documented. Our certifications are public. You should never have to wonder what we're doing with your information or what it costs.
Zero landfill is not a marketing line. Every pound we shred is baled and sent to a certified paper mill, and we give you a recycling certificate to document it.
Our Mission
Too many Massachusetts businesses treat document security as a burden, something to worry about only when an auditor walks in. Our mission is to change that by making secure shredding so convenient, affordable, and well-documented that there's no reason not to do it right.
When your staff can drop sensitive documents in a locked console instead of a recycling bin, and when your annual compliance report is waiting in your inbox before the auditor calls, security stops feeling like a burden and starts feeling like standard operating procedure.
Certifications & Compliance
NAID AAA Certification is the gold standard for information destruction companies. It requires regular unannounced audits, background checks on all employees, strict chain-of-custody protocols, and certified equipment standards.
Healthcare clients can sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with us, establishing that we handle protected health information (PHI) in full compliance with HIPAA's Security and Privacy Rules.
We operate in full compliance with Massachusetts's data security regulation and help our clients satisfy their own 201 CMR 17 obligations. Our Certificates of Destruction are designed to serve as documentation for MA compliance audits.
We maintain BBB accreditation and our A+ rating reflects our commitment to transparent business practices, fair pricing, and prompt resolution of any client concerns.
All electronic media and e-waste we destroy is processed through certified recycling partners who comply with EPA standards and Responsible Recycling (R2) certification. Nothing ends up in a landfill.
Every member of our field team passes a comprehensive background check before working with client materials. We carry full commercial liability, commercial auto, and errors & omissions insurance.
